As of 4-27-17 we are officially new home homeowners! We are all settled in and loving life. The moment we walked through our front door it immediately felt like home.
We have 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths, and a large unfinished basement. As of right now we have our master bedroom/bath, a spare room for visitors, and the additional room will be our nursery. Our neighborhood has been nothing short of amazing. They have all welcomed us with open arms, offering to help us move in, and inviting us over for for BBQ's. We feel like we fit right in with everyone and it's been so much fun making new friends. We couldn't be happier with our choice to move. We are more excited than ever for the direction our lives are heading!

Our new home is getting so close to being completed. We are so excited to have our own place again! It's been so much fun being able to experience this adventure together though. I feel like Nate and I both have the same sense of style so it's been an easy process picking out the design options together. That or Nate knows that I'll get my way no matter what so he just goes along with what I say!
We meet the builder on Tuesday to do our 4way inspection walk through and then we insulation and drywall goes in. I work for a drywall company so we are able to use them and save a bit of money which is definitely a plus especially with all the upcoming costs we will be facing. I have a vision of how I want the house to look when we get moved in and settled. I really am so excited to see it come to life! I think I'm most excited to sleep on our brand new mattress. Our mattress we have now is cheap and super uncomfortable. Life lesson: Spend the extra money on a good mattress. Your hips will thank you! I'll get some pictures uploaded so you all can see the progress <3 The last couple of months have been so crazy for us! When we decided to start moving forward with DEIVF the first thing we needed to do was get our financing in place. We applied for a home equity loan to cover the expense, however Nates ex was on the house so that was not an easy task. We ended up going through a few months of our attorneys battling before it was settled. What started out as a home equity loan ended up in us deciding the best option for us would be to sale the house.
We had already been looking around for a new house and had decided to build. We found our builder and put money down on the house. It takes them about 6 months to complete the house so we were wanting to wait to sale the house, but the terms of the settlement were that we had to have her name off the house either by sale or refinance within 3 months so we listed our house. We had one family come look and they put in an offer immediately for our listed price! Umm… holy crap! I was freaking out when it all happened because at the time I was pregnant and couldn’t really help pack or move anything. Nate pretty much did it all. We packed everything we wouldn’t need into a storage unit. During the moving process is when I miscarried. So not only was I emotional over the loss, but packing away our memories was so hard on me. I cried the whole day we were officially moved out! Fast forward a few weeks later and we are all moved in with my mom and step dad for a few months! We were a bit nervous because our dogs can be crazy and they had never lived anywhere else, but the little stinkers have surprised us and they are behaving better at my moms’ then they were at our house! My mom likes to take them for walks and give them treats so they are basking in the attention! I can’t wait to be able to decorate the new house. I love interior design so this is going to be fun. Nate is probably going to want to kill me and our wallets are going to be hurting, but we will have a beautiful new home that’s all ours. 6 years ago I never would have imagined I would be able to be living comfortably in a house that I own. Look forward to lots of progress pictures and interior design stuff. I am so excited!!! The last few months have been crazy but it has really opened my eyes to how many blessings I have in my life. Our families have both stepped in and helped us pack our house and gave us a place to temporarily live. We have good enough friends who have helped us move our whole house. Our cute dogs have adjusted well and Nate and I feel right at home at my mom’s. We both have good, steady jobs that have helped this all become reality. Hard work really does pay off! For the most part life is really good and I feel so blessed to live the life I do. |
